Michelle Ott is an artist and author whose art and illustrations focus on observations of the physical and social world. Her work has been exhibited and published in the US and abroad. She has received several awards, including the Antarctica Service Medal for her work as support staff at McMurdo Station over four summer seasons. Michelle’s book Outer Space is Closer Than Antarctica, published by Chronicle Books, was released in 2025.
Since 2018 she has illustrated a new postcard each month via her Postcard Machine postcard-of-the-month (they all go out via USPS in a red envelope.)
